Packaging
At Truckned, we believe it is important that your order is packed safely and carefully. After all, lighting and accessories must arrive undamaged, regardless of whether the package is delivered by PostNL, DPD, DHL, or another carrier.
That is why we don’t just choose sturdy packaging, but also a working method where we avoid unnecessary packaging material as much as possible. We use appropriately sized boxes, reuse packaging where possible, and consciously choose recyclable materials.
Always an appropriately sized shipping box
Not every product requires the same packaging. A small LED marker lamp naturally needs less space than a complete light bar or multiple work lights.
That is why we have various sizes of letterbox boxes and shipping boxes. For every order, we choose the smallest packaging in which your order can be transported safely. This limits empty space in the box and requires less filler material.
This has several advantages:
- Less packaging material.
- Less unnecessary empty space.
- Less filler material.
- Safer transport of your order.
- More efficient use of transport space.
- Reuse of shipping boxes
Reuse of shipping boxes
Every day we receive deliveries from our suppliers at home and abroad. Many of these boxes are still in excellent condition after receipt.
When an order does not fit into one of our standard shipping boxes, or when a received box is still perfectly usable, we like to give this packaging a second life.
By reusing sturdy boxes, we prevent usable packaging from being thrown away immediately. Naturally, we check every box before it is reused to ensure your order can be shipped safely.
Protection where needed
Our goal is simple: use as little packaging material as possible, but never at the expense of protecting your order.
As standard, we use kraft paper as filler material. This paper is sturdy, recyclable, and ensures that products stay firmly in place during transport.
Sometimes extra protection is necessary. Think, for example, of heavy products, fragile lighting, or a combination of different items in one package. In those cases, we additionally use a limited amount of packing peanuts.
These packing peanuts consist of 100% recycled polystyrene and are only used when kraft paper alone offers insufficient protection. This way, we limit transport damage and prevent unnecessary material use.
Materials we use
For our packaging, we mainly use materials that are easily recyclable.
Our packaging consists of, among other things:
- Cardboard shipping boxes
- Kraft paper as filler material
- Transparent packaging tape
- All Day Led packaging tape
- Packing peanuts made of 100% recycled polystyrene (only when necessary).
Every order is different. A small marker lamp needs different packaging than a complete LED light bar or a set of work lights. That is why we look at every order individually to see which packaging is most suitable.
Recycling packaging
After receipt, you can easily separate most packaging materials.
- Cardboard boxes and letterbox boxes can go with the waste paper.
- Kraft paper can also go with the waste paper.
- Any packaging tape does not need to be removed from the box first; it is separated from the cardboard during the recycling process.
- Packing peanuts can be disposed of according to your local municipality’s guidelines; they can often be included with residual waste.
By separating packaging correctly, many materials can be reprocessed into new products.
We keep improving
In the future, we will also continue to look critically at our packaging and working methods. We follow developments regarding sustainable packaging and European regulations, such as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), and regularly assess whether materials or packaging methods can be further improved.
Our starting point always remains the same:
Your order must arrive safely, with as little packaging material as possible and as many reusable or recyclable materials as possible.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I sometimes receive my order in a used box?
We reuse sturdy boxes from suppliers when they are still in excellent condition. This way, we give packaging a second life and prevent unnecessary waste.
Why is there sometimes filler material in my package?
During transport, packages are moved multiple times. Filler material prevents products from moving in the box and reduces the chance of transport damage.
Why don’t you use only paper?
In most cases, we use kraft paper. However, some fragile or heavy products require extra protection. In those cases, we use a limited amount of packing peanuts to prevent damage during transport.
Can I recycle the packaging?
Yes. Most packaging consists of cardboard and paper and can be easily recycled. Always check your local municipality’s guidelines for correct waste separation.
Carefully packed, safely delivered.
When you place an order with Truckned, you can count on packaging that is tailored to your order. We always choose an appropriately sized shipping box, reuse packaging where possible, and limit the use of packaging material without compromising on protection. Kraft paper is our standard filler material, and only when extra protection is needed do we use additional padding. This way, we ensure that your order arrives safely while making conscious choices in the use of packaging materials.
